Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Arbois Chardonnay les Bruyères is produced with grapes from Triassic clay soils, which seem to give the wines a very Jura character that I also saw in the Sursis. This matured in barrique for two years. It has the spiciness and nuttiness, with lots of personality—the personality of clay like this is very interesting. This would be called a reductive wine, which can have a longer élevage and can also age nicely in bottle. Some 5,500 bottles were filled in October 2017.
Between 8ºC and 10ºC
Spontaneous fermentation and ageing for 24 months in oak barrels (20% new ones).
