Description
Rietsch's Riesling Stein is a single varietal white wine made from Riesling grapes from harvests in the south of Alsace in France. It is defined as a wine with pronounced acidity, but at the same time dry, denoting the presence of fruit combined with a mineral and earthy flavour.
Its texture and flavour are influenced by the winemaking technique where not only the minimum intervention of chemicals is ensured, but also the fermentation of the fruit on its lees.
Winemaking
Like other whites from this winery, Rietsch's Riesling Stein comes from grapes grown in certified organic vineyards, which translates into a natural specimen.
The grapes are harvested using artisanal techniques that ensure that the fruit arrives at the winery whole and at its optimum level of ripeness, and are then pressed to extract the must.
The next phase corresponds to fermentation, which is carried out spontaneously, without any additives that could alter the result of the wine. The wine is then aged in old barrels for 31 months before being bottled without filtration.

Rietsch Riesling Stein is a white wine with slightly oxidative aromas that evoke an elegant experience. When tasted you will notice the presence of saline elements and a pronounced acidity very characteristic of wines made from the Riesling grape variety.
