The 2023 Tinasoria is the second vintage of this wine from a vineyard that overlooks the La Geria, the highest vineyard in Lanzarote at 640 meters above sea level. It comes from a tiny plot, still in the process of obtaining the organic certification, and is mostly Malvasía Volcánica with some Listán Blanco. It's a white with a Tilama-like profile, possibly longer and a little sharper, with 12.5% alcohol and a balanced, pure, crystalline and symmetric palate, with vibrant freshness, almost effervescent. Because of the high altitude, the grapes were picked later, the first week of August in the early 2023 harvest. They only have one 500-liter barrel that produced around 500 bottles. This is a superb elegant volcanic white. It was bottled May 2024.

Description

This little treasure is made by Puro Rofe, a winery that has made heroic viticulture its banner. Its commitment to the authenticity and purity of the terroir is evident from the very first moment. The base of Puro Rofe Tinasoria is Malvasía Volcánica, a variety that, as its name suggests, has the gift of transmitting the mineral of the ash soils. To this is added a small percentage of Listán Blanco, which brings balance and freshness.
The vineyard is located at an altitude of 640 metres, in the middle of the Tinasoria Mountain, the highest point of La Geria. Imagine: centuries-old vines rooted in a black, almost lunar soil, where each vine fights against the wind and extreme heat to produce grapes of unparalleled concentration. A curious fact: this small vineyard is in the process of organic certification, reaffirming the winery's commitment to respectful and sustainable cultivation.
Winemaking
Winemaking is almost an act of patience and respect. After spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine spends 8 to 9 months in a 500-litre used French oak barrel. Just one barrel, no more, no less. The production of Puro Rofe Tinasoria is only 500 bottles, which makes it a true rarity.
Taste
From the first sip, Puro Rofe Tinasoria feels alive. It is fresh, vibrant, with an almost playful acidity that makes it impossible to forget.
If you were to close your eyes and taste it without knowing anything about its origin, you would surely notice something special. Ripe pineapple, lemon and a hint of mango intertwine with more subtle notes of Mediterranean herbs. And then, almost like an echo, that unmistakable saline touch appears, as if every drop carries with it a breath of the Atlantic.
In Puro Rofe Tinasoria the texture is more than just a detail: it has body, a certain weight in the mouth, but without losing agility. It is a wine with structure and tension, like a well-tempered rope. It is not the typical light, easy-drinking white. There is history here, there is depth.
