Only bottled in cool vintages, the sharp and pungent 2016 Añadas Frías was sourced from the San Juan de Anteportalatina vineyard in Laguardia that they have always used for this label. Yields are very low at 11 hectoliters per hectare, and the grapes are still selected in the vineyards. After the grapes had a cold soak and a light pressing, it started fermenting in stainless steel (for three days) and then continued in French barrels of different sizes and an 800-liter egg-shaped concrete vat, where it matured for 12 months. It's a sharp and serious white, with good freshness and concentration, very young and still in need of time in bottle to develop further nuances and complexity. It has vibrant acidity and an electric mouthfeel with very fine chalky tannins and a dry, serious finish. This should be long lived. 1,900 bottles were filled in November 2017.
