La Bota de Malt Whisky 104 Bota NO is the result of an unwavering vision: that of Equipo Navazos, determined to show the purest and most uncontrived spirit of Andalusian wine and distillate. This unique edition is born from malted barley grown and distilled in Castilla la Vieja, a region of extreme climate and hard soils, where the cereal develops a sober and austere character. But its real transformation comes later: during twelve years of ageing in a single sherry cask, formerly part of a solera of old dry oloroso of exceptional quality.
This is an unrepeatable edition, bottled directly from that single cask: no blending, no corrections, no cold filtering, and no additives of any kind. In line with the Navazos philosophy, purity and authenticity mark every decision. This cask, marked as "NO" -reserved, removed from the dynamic system of criaderas and soleras- has served as the silent cradle of a whisky that dialogues with time and wood.
Winemaking
The production of La Bota de Malt Whisky 104 Bota NO is as simple as it is radical: single cask, without interference. From distillation to bottling, each step has been respectful of the raw material and the cask that houses it. Static oxidative ageing in a vat previously saturated with oloroso gives it depth, structure and a saline, dry personality, far removed from the complacent sweetness of other contemporary malts.
Taste
On the nose, La Bota de Malt Whisky 104 Bota NO displays a restrained and elegant complexity: toasted nuts, bitter orange peel, aged wood and a mineral background that refers directly to the lost veil of blossom. No invasive peat or sweet notes: here the echo of old Jerez rules, with all its history and oxidation.
On the palate, La Bota de Malt Whisky 104 Bota NO is sharp, dry, long and deep. The texture is taut, fine-muscled, with hints of bitter walnut, black tea and a saline finish that makes it almost a gastronomic distillate. The dram is vertical, direct, uncompromising.
