Description
Karnage Kassette A is a masterful creation of Charles Dagand and Stéphane Planche, two wine enthusiasts who have joined forces in the Jura, France. The composition of this wine is a balanced blend of 50% Alicante Bouschet and 50% Merlot from Carcassone (Aude), located in the prestigious Languedoc region.
Winemaking
Vinification takes place in two different tanks. In the first one, half of the Alicante Bouschet is placed in whole cluster and the other half of the Merlot must is pressed directly, allowing everything to macerate together for 3 weeks. In the second tank, the other half of the Alicante Bouschet whole bunch and the rest of the destemmed Merlot are placed, leaving this mixture to macerate for 15 days. After this process, the juices from both tanks are pressed and blended, fermenting together in other tanks until bottling in November. This meticulous elaboration has resulted in a limited production of 675 bottles, guaranteeing exclusivity and quality in each one of them. This wine is produced without added sulphites.

Karnage Kassette A immerses us in a sensory journey from the very first moment. As you bring the glass closer, aromas of blackberry and sultanas are revealed, inviting you to discover more. As you taste it, your taste buds are permeated by intense flavours of black cherry. This fruity explosion subtly evolves into citrus notes, where the distinctive taste of blood orange intertwines with nuances of grapefruit. However, the real surprise comes on the finish: after tasting, a smoky flavour emerges which, combined with its marked acidity, leaves an ash-like sensation on the palate. Despite its medium to low intensity tannins, the wine stands out for its high acidity and medium intensity body. It is a wine that plays between sweet and dry, offering a perfect balance for those looking for an out-of-the-ordinary experience.
