In this case, we are talking about Tempranillo and Albillo, grown on a unique estate in Villanueva de Gumiel, Burgos.
Winemaking
The vines, more than 55 years old, grow in red sand and pebble soils, elements that give it a subtle minerality and a freshness difficult to find in other claret wines. At Goyo García Viadero Finca Los Quemados Clarete there are no shortcuts or gimmicks: the grapes are harvested by hand, fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and the wine rests in used barrels until it reaches its optimum point. Goyo, true to his philosophy of minimal intervention, lets the wine speak for itself. And it does.
Taste
Visually, Goyo García Viadero Finca Los Quemados Clarete is a deceptive wine. At first sight, you might think that this is a light red wine, but as soon as you bring it closer to the nose, everything changes.
