Algueira Brandan is a white wine that stands out for its freshness and distinctive character, reflecting the winemaking tradition of the Ribeira Sacra. This wine is made exclusively from Godello grapes, a variety that gives it a unique and recognisable profile. The region's schist and slate soils, together with a southern orientation and a Mediterranean microclimate with an Atlantic influence, play a crucial role in the development of the grapes, bringing nuances and complexity to the wine.
Winemaking
Algueira Brandan is made from destemmed and pressed grapes, fermented in stainless steel tanks. This process, which dispenses with the use of lees or wood, is essential to maintain the freshness and purity of the fruit. The wine does not undergo an ageing process, which allows its primary characteristics to shine through.
Taste
Algueira Brandan is characterised by a flavour that highlights white fruit, with predominant notes of green apple and lemon pear, complemented by a background of freshly cut hay and subtle vegetal notes. On the palate, the attack is acidic, revealing a density and texture more pronounced than its aroma suggests.
