The André et Mireille Tissot winery, located in the heart of Jura, France, was founded in 1962 by André and Mireille Tissot. This estate, located a few kilometres from Arbois, has been the setting for an exciting history of wine, terroir and family tradition. Since 1989, Stéphane Tissot, son of the founders, has taken the reins of winemaking at the domaine, continuing and expanding his parents' legacy with an innovative vision and commitment to exceptional quality.
Vineyards
André et Mireille Tissot 's vineyards extend over almost 50 hectares, a considerable size by Jura standards. These plots are dedicated to biodynamics, allowing the soil and vines to thrive in a chemical-free environment in harmony with nature. The vineyards are planted with classic Jura varieties: savagnin, poulsard, trousseau, pinot noir and chardonnay, reflecting the diversity and richness of the Jura terroir.
The Jura climate, together with chalky soils and a variety of microclimates, provides ideal conditions for growing these varieties. The domaine's emblematic terroirs, such as Les Bruyères, La Mailloche, En Barberon and Curon, are the setting for growing grapes that express the pure essence of their terroir.
Philosophy
André et Mireille Tissot' s philosophy focuses on the authentic expression of terroir and a deep respect for nature. Stéphane Tissot and his team work with the conviction that a wine made with love and passion can convey unique emotions, reflecting the personality and character of those who create it. This quest for authenticity leads the domaine to produce a wide range of cuvées, each with its own distinctive identity, ranging from whites and reds to vin jaunes, all marked by minimal intervention and restricted use of sulphur.
Vinification is carried out with the aim of preserving varietal typicity and terroir expression, using 225-litre barrels for the chardonnays, with a percentage of new barrels varying between 10 and 20%, and specific techniques for each type of wine. The diversity of soils and microclimates allows Stéphane Tissot to demonstrate his ability to create wines that are true expressions of Jura terroir.
