Skin contact for 4 hours. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in 500 litre barrels. Aged for 14 months in barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulphites.

Description

Strohmeier TLZ Gelb is an authentic and pure expression of the terroir of Bad Gams, a wine region characterised by its gneiss soil with a high iron and silica content. This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay, one of the most popular and versatile white grapes in the wine world.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring a careful selection of only the healthiest and ripest bunches. After harvesting, the grapes spend a few hours in contact with their skins, which gives them greater complexity and structure. They are then gently pressed and undergo spontaneous fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 months in used 300-litre oak barrels, which adds subtle woody notes to the wine without overshadowing its fruity character. It is important to note that this wine does not undergo fining or filtering and no sulphur is added, making it a natural wine in every sense of the word.

Taste

Strohmeier TLZ Gelb has a bright yellow colour, as the name suggests, accompanied by an attractive cloudiness. On the nose, it displays aromas of honey, yellow fruits and a touch of sweet spices. On the palate, it is seductive and deep, with a lingering minerality and a freshness that invites a second sip. Its taste is a dance of sensations, with each sip revealing new facets and nuances.
It is a versatile and lively wine, with no trace of unpleasant or excessively funky aromas. It is recommended to enjoy it at a temperature of 15 degrees to fully appreciate its richness and complexity.
