The 2022 Norte is the wine produced with Tempranillo grapes planted at 720 meters in altitude on limestone-rich soils. Starting in 2021, the grapes now ferment in two separate vats, given the difference of ripeness between the part of the vineyard with more clay and the one with more limestone. San Pedro believes this has provided extra precision in the wine, which in this very warm and dry year finished fermenting at 13.5% alcohol, less than in 2021. It matured in French barriques and concrete. There is better balance and finer tannins here; the wine has energy and clout, but it's also elegant and more balanced. It should develop nicely in bottle. 9,000 bottles produced.
