I found the 2020 La Carrerada to be cleaner, fresher and more focused than the 2019 I tasted next to it. This year, the label mentions Carinyena (instead of the confusing Samsó). The wine is floral and aromatic, like Cariñena can sometimes be, while keeping the earthy and tree bark-like character. There's some lightness and freshness here, but the wine has clout and ripeness, coming through as characterful and balanced.
