Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The sparkling 2012 Colet Navazos Extra Brut is a joint-venture between Colet from Penedès and Equipo Navazos from Jerez. This extra brut is produced with Xarello grapes, matured in bottle on its lees for some two years and then topped up with some bone dry Palo Cortado from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, used as liqueur d'expedition. As I've seen with some of their unfortified wines (especially their joint-venture with Dirk Niepoort), these sparklers also seem to put on weight in bottle. Somehow, this is much darker than the 2011 Reserva, but also feels fresher... 1,600 bottles produced.
Between 6ºC and 8ºC
Minimum ageing of 41 months in bottle.
