Description
Cazé Thibaut Jossias Rosé is an exceptional champagne from France, specifically from the Vallée de la Marne sub-region in Champagne. This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, harvested from vineyards located in the commune of Vandières on chalky clay soils with southeastern exposure. Although it is 100% Pinot Noir, this rosé champagne is a rosé d'assemblage, as about 10-14% of côteau rouge (red wine) is added to the white base wine, coming from the same plot. This winemaking process results in a wine with a distinctive character and a complex and refined flavour profile.
Cazé Thibaut Jossias Rosé ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels. The wine is then bottled unfiltered and unclarified for a second fermentation on its own lees for a minimum of 36 months. With a final dosage of 1 gram per litre of sugar(Brut Nature) and an alcohol content of 12.5%, this rosé champagne is best served at a temperature of 10-12°C to fully appreciate its distinctive qualities and flavours. It is important to mention that the production of this wine is limited, with only 2391 bottles produced, making it an exclusive and coveted choice for wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
Taste
Cazé Thibaut Jossias Rosé is characterised by an elegant and almost sensual palate, with a juicy opening of red fruits, followed by an enveloping freshness. The nose is expressive, displaying aromas of wild strawberries, sour cherries, juicy apples and plum jam, framed by notes of candied violets, toasted nuts and subtle iodised mineral tones. In addition, notes of rhubarb, watermelon, tomato, acacia blossom and a hint of smoky aged whisky can be identified. This wine also offers a slightly sweetened palate, with additional flavours of creamy puff pastry, plus watermelon, strawberry, cereal and raspberry soda, providing a rich and pleasurable taste experience.
