The white 2023 El Quintà was produced with Garnacha Blanca from vines planted between 1940 and 1945 on loess limestone soils. It fermented and matured in 500- and 600-liter barrels for seven months with lees. It's not a shy wine at 14.5% alcohol, but it keeps the poise with freshness, reflected by a pH of 3.44. It has a mild effect from the skins, with faint yellow fruit and flowers and very fine tannins, coming through as characterful and balanced. 1,981 bottles and 20 magnums produced. It was bottled unfiltered in May 2024.

Description
Bàrbara Forés El Quintà is a single varietal Grenache Blanc, made from grapes coming from small vineyards located in the Coll d'Alsina area of Gandesa, specifically in the areas known as La Cometa and Coll de Batea. These vines, more than 70 years old, grow on loess soils, a type of soil formed by wind sediments known in the Terra Alta region as "honeycomb". This wine is the result of organic, dry farming, respectful of the environment.
Winemaking
The grapes were harvested between 24 August and 4 September. Cold maceration is carried out for 24 hours, followed by fermentation in 400 to 600 litre French oak barrels d'Allier with its own yeasts. Subsequently, the wine is aged in the same vats for 8 months on the lees.

The taste of Bàrbara Forés El Quintà is a complete sensory experience. When you taste it, you perceive an unctuous and dry texture, with a marked citric acidity and a saline touch that provides a distinctive freshness. This wine has a balanced body and a long finish, culminating in a bitter finish that invites you to pair it with food rather than drink it on its own.
