The white 2023 Viñas de Gaín Blanco fermented with the full lees in 600-liter barrels, racked when it was halfway through the fermentation, put back in the barrel to finish fermenting with finer lees, and after that, it was put in 4,000-liter foudres, where it matured for 14 months. He wanted to remove the aromas of lees, because he standardizes the aromas and wants to capture the effect of the year. The wine has purity of aromas and is subtle, herbal and floral, quite vertical. It comes in below 13% alcohol and is fine-boned, balanced, fresh and very tasty with a salty twist in the finish, sharper, with less ripeness. 5,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2025. 2022 was not produced, and 2021 was eventually not sold, because he found a honeyed side to it that he didn't like.

Description
Artadi Viñas de Gaín Blanco is an exquisite white wine made in La Rioja with the white grape variety Viura from several vineyards located in the municipalities of Laguardia and Elvillar.
It comes from vineyards located at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level, on clay-limestone soils.
This wine is the perfect accompaniment to complex salads, baked white fish, Iberian acorn-fed ham, fish stew, risottos, grilled seafood and fish rice dishes.
Preparation
The grapes are harvested and selected by hand in the vineyard and transported to the winery in 15 kg crates. Once in the winery, it is partially fermented in barrels for 30 days. At the end of fermentation, it remains in stainless steel tanks for two years.

Artadi Viñas de Gaín Blanco is lively and unctuous on the palate, with a voluminous passage . With good acidity and personality and notes of grilled bread and a savoury bitterness.
