My favorite of the varietal reds was the 2015 O Esteiro Caíño, with the telltale aromas of dried roses, cracked peppercorns and ashes and that rustic elegance the grape is able of. The vines are extremely old. All the red varietals are foot trodden and fermented in plastic bins and aged in used oak barrels. Perfumed, elegant and subtle, with a sharp, fine-grained, textured palate with a remarkable finish. 600 bottles were filled in February 2017. My heart is divided between the blend and this one...

Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and aged for 8 months in French oak barrels. Bottled without any filtering or clarifying process.
