The 2022 Ultreia Valtuille comes from different plots in the lieu-dit of Villegas. The wine has contained alcohol but has a roundness and a ripe sensation on the nose. They are using 25% foudres for the élevage here, and that percentage will be increased in the future. It has a medium to full-bodied palate with abundant, slightly dusty tannins. Some 4,800 bottles produced.

Description
Ultreia de Valtuille is a red wine made exclusively from Mencía grapes by the Raúl Pérez winery and vineyards in the region of Castilla y León.
The grapes used to make this wine come from a single plot planted in 1908 in Valtuille de Abajo, facing south.
This vineyard is situated on a clay-limestone soil with a lot of sand on the surface and is located at 530 metres above sea level, which gives this wine its impressive qualities.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and a meticulous selection process is carried out. Fermentation is carried out in vats, with very gentle and long macerations with little extraction work and perfect barrel management.
The wine is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels. Once matured, it is bottled without filtering or fining.
Taste
Ultreia de Valtuille is a red wine with fruity aromas, spicy notes and floral hints. On the palate it is light, fresh and elegant, with a marked acidity and juicy, ripe tannins. The finish is precise, clean and perfumed, a wine with a great capacity for ageing!

Ultreia de Valtuille is a red wine, named in homage to the ancient greeting used by pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostela, which today would be translated as "adelante" or "continue".
This wine, made by Raúl Pérez in a limited production, naturally expresses the character of the Mencía grape variety. It is probably the most representative wine of the Bierzo style.
In the gastronomic field it is perfect for business lunches or dinners with friends and to accompany legumes, red meats and game.
