Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There are red and white wines with the same names, so it can get a bit confusing. Here the red 2012 Muradella is an old-vine selection from different vineyards, zones and soils (clay, granite and slate) mixing Bastardo, Mencía, Mouratón, Garnacha Tintorera, Dona Blanca and Gran Negro grapes which fermented, part in stainless steel, part in 500-liter barrels and matured in alternate phases between stainless steel and used wood before being bottled unfiltered. It shows ripe red and black fruit that is more concentrated that its siblings with more evident tannins. It needs powerful food, time in bottle or both. The nose develops jammy notes plus plenty of spices and herbs with a little bit of time in the glass. If you leave it for a good hour in the glass it starts getting more focused and fresher, so I'd recommend to open it well in advance and perhaps follow it in the decanter for a couple of hours. 4,000 bottles.
