Description
Maria Bernet Brut Nature 2013 is the queen of the Júlia Bernet winery and one of the flagships of the Corpinnat association. This wine stands out for being a high-end sparkling wine with a very limited production of only 800 bottles per year, which makes it a true delight for lovers of good wine. It is made exclusively from the Xarel-lo variety, a grape native to the region that gives it unique characteristics.
Elaboration
Maria Bernet Brut Nature comes from vines located in the Ordal mountains, at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level in the Alt Penedès. These vines have an average age of 40 years and are located in calcareous soils under a Mediterranean climate.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the early hours of the morning, seeking the coolest temperatures in order to preserve the freshness and quality of the grapes. Once in the winery, fermentation takes place at 14 ºC for approximately 30 days. After this process, the wine rests for six months on its lees, followed by fine filtration before a second fermentation in the bottle. The result is a wine aged for a minimum of 9 years in the bottle, which gives it an unequalled complexity and elegance.
Taste
Maria Bernet Brut Nature has a crisp appearance and fine bubbles. On the nose, it exhibits power and energy, offering fruity aromas and toasted, smoky and herbaceous notes. On the palate, it is subtle and elegant, showing great balance thanks to its marked and refreshing acidity. The persistence is high, with a fine bubble that opens after a few minutes, making it the perfect companion for the most demanding dishes.
