The 2021 Selección is a more ambitious wine (more expensive) than the Reserva, and since 2019, it has been produced with the five red grapes from Rioja and is a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 12% Graciano, 3% Garnacha, 2% Mazuelo, 2% Maturana and 1% white Viura. It fermented in stainless steel by variety and village and matured in French oak for 16 months. It has the seriousness, austerity, balance and elegance of the 2021s. It has ripeness and 14.4% alcohol, which is unnoticeable and harmonious, with a textured mouthfeel and very fine and elegant tannins. This is probably the finest vintage of this wine to date. 143,220 bottles and 840 magnums produced. It was bottled in May 2024.
