Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
I tasted the bottled 2022 Migan, which was paler than the sample of 2023 I tasted next to it and also felt more reductive. Sixty-three percent of the wine was with lees in used 500- and 600-liter oak barrels, and the rest (from the Tío Luis plot) was kept with fine lees in a 4,200-liter concrete vat. It has 12% alcohol and is very volcanic, with clear reminiscences of pumice stone and lapilli ash but with the black peppercorns from Orotava also clearly there. It's a little lighter than the more complete 2023. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2023.

Description
The red wine Migan of the Envínate winery is a wine made with Listán Negro grapes from vineyards planted in the Canary Islands, Spain, specifically in the municipality of La Perdoma (formerly called Migan), in the Orotava Valley. This grape is characterised by its resistance, vigour and rustic character. Its blue to black hue gives the characteristic colour to Envínate's Migan wine.
Winemaking
The vinification process is carried out with a partial destemming, with approximately 50% of the grapes being destemmed, in 6,300 litre concrete vats. The process is carried out in these vats with its own yeasts, for a period of between 20 and 30 days.
The ageing is carried out in French oak barrels for a period of 11 to 12 months. It is important to note that this grape harvest is completely organic, that is to say, the use of pesticides or herbicides is completely avoided, and it is bottled without having been previously clarified or filtered.
Taste
Migan is a red wine characterised by its aroma and flavour of fresh red fruits with varying levels of citrus and sweetness. Spices and a touch of orange peel also stand out in its flavour and aroma. It is a wine with only 12% alcoholic content, but with fine and ripe tannins that provide balance in the flavour.
An accessible wine that stands out in its flavour and aroma.
Envínate's Migan wine is an experience that invites you to enjoy a strong drink with touches that soften the palate. It is perfect for pairing with white meats, fish, sausages, pasta and rice dishes, ideal for family or corporate celebrations.
Undoubtedly, Migan wine assures you an exclusive experience that stands out for its taste, aroma and body. Have you already tried it? How was your experience?
