The 2010 Els Escurcons is pure Garnacha (since 2008) from a 600-meter altitude vineyard planted in 1999. Part of the wine aged in terracotta amphorae, which is the way to go for this wine in the future (100% since 2012, but in 2010 there was only one amphora and seven oak barrels). The nose has more red fruit than black, with notes of blood orange and licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and freshness. It is both ripe and fragile, with good freshness. Drink 2014-2020.
