Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Camí Pesseroles is mostly Cariñena (90%) with some Garnacha from head-pruned old vines planted in 1939 that always deliver concentration and grip. In 2021, they picked the grapes earlier, fermented with full clusters, and the wine finished with 13.3% alcohol. It has the earthy and soil feeling of the Cariñena and the black slate, with hints of tree bark and ink, but there is also an herbal touch, with lots of tension and a lot of energy. Since 2017, this matures in a 1,200-liter chestnut wood foudre that has bigger pores, and part is also in glass demijohns. The spice notes are different here, and there is a touch of rusticity, perhaps from the chestnut. It's medium-bodied and has fine tannins, lifted by freshness. Earthy and rustic Priorat. This needs time in bottle. 2,704 bottles were filled in September 2022.

Description
Camí Pesseroles is a red wine made from Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena grapes by the Mas Martinet Viticultors winery under the D.O.Q. Priorat appellation. Priorat.
The grapes used to make the Camí de Pesseroles wine come from a vineyard that is over 80 years old, planted on hillsides on crumbled llicorella soil.
This vineyard is made up of 3 plots located on the road from Gratallops to Torroja del Priorat.
Elaboration
To make Camí Pesseroles, the grapes are harvested by hand and selected in the vineyard. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in different containers, wooden vats and cement tanks, together with their lees and with very gentle and brief washings for approximately one month.
The wine is aged in 60-litre amphorae and demijohns for 18 months, with a combination of percentages depending on the vintage. Bottling is done without any kind of clarification.
Taste
Camí Pesseroles is a fluid red wine with fruity aromas and spicy notes. The palate is concentrated and deep, pure minerality and rusticity. A medium to full-bodied wine with ripe tannins and a long, balsamic finish.
A complex and mineral wine.
Els Escurçons is a red wine made by José Luis Pérez, oenologist, researcher, teacher and one of the main protagonists in the resurgence of Priorat wines.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is especially recommended for business lunches, dinners with friends, gifts and as an accompaniment to meals such as grilled lamb, game and white meats.
