Description
Didier Dagueneau Blanc Etc is a flagship white wine from the Pouilly-Fumé region in the heart of the Loire Valley, France. Made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc, this wine reflects the legacy of Didier Dagueneau, an iconic figure in natural and biodynamic winemaking, who since the 1980s began to excel in the production of high quality white wines. After his death, his son Louis-Benjamin has continued this tradition, respecting the principles of biodynamics and minimal intervention in the vineyards.
Winemaking
The wine is made from young vines grown on clay and limestone soils, which contributes to its distinctive mineral character. After manual harvesting and gentle pressing, the must ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is then aged on its lees for 12 months in foudres, giving it greater structure and complexity.
Taste
Didier Dagueneau Blanc Etc stands out for its marked mineral profile, a characteristic that defines the great wines of Pouilly-Fumé. On the nose, it displays notes of citrus fruits such as grapefruit and lime, accompanied by subtle hints of tropical fruits and fresh herbs. On the palate, its texture is creamy and enveloping, with a well-integrated acidity that gives it great freshness. The finish is long, with a lingering mineral sensation and a saline touch that makes it extremely refreshing. This wine is an excellent choice to accompany seafood dishes, white fish and green salads, although it can also be enjoyed on its own, as a wine to reflect on and appreciate at leisure.
