Winemaking

Skin soaking for 12 days with destemmed and crushed grapes. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 18 months in ceramic eggs. Bottled unfiltered.

Description

Burja Stranice comes from the Vipava region, a renowned wine region in Slovenia. The varieties that make up this wine are Malvasia, Welschriesling, Ribolla and Vipavec.

Winemaking

The grapes come from a vineyard of 0.90 hectares with a soil composed mainly of marl and sandstone. These vines, with an average age of 65 years, are cultivated under biodynamic practices, which guarantees a sustainable and environmentally friendly cultivation. Harvesting is done by hand, ensuring that only the best grapes are selected. Once harvested, the grapes undergo a 12-day maceration and spontaneous fermentation in concrete with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 1 month in stainless steel, followed by 20 months in barrels.

Taste

Burja Stranice is a highly mineral macerated orange wine from the single vineyard of Vipava. Its contact with the skin in ceramic eggs gives it a distinctive stone and flint touch. On tasting, a bouquet of apple, grass and hay unfolds, evoking Slovenian countryside landscapes. Its palate is long-lasting and balanced, making each sip a memorable experience.
