Description
Bertha MAX Gran Reserva is a sparkling wine made from a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir, and completed with 50% of a traditional blend of Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada by the Bertha winery in the region in Catalonia (Spain).
The grapes are a blend of native Penedés varieties grown in clay and limestone soils and under the influence of the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyards are worked using traditional agricultural techniques.
Winemaking
The grapes of Bertha MAX Gran Reserva sparkling wine are harvested by hand. The elaboration of this wine is governed by the traditional method or champenoise method, with the first fermentations taking place in stainless steel tanks, each variety separately.
When the final blend is made, this wine rests in the bottle for 10 years before being ready to extract the lees (yeasts) from the second fermentation.
Taste
This sparkling wine has a pleasant, creamy, smooth and pleasant mouthfeel, with fully integrated carbon dioxide and a fresh and lively acidity. With a very pleasant finish and a small, continuous bubble.
It is an unbeatable drink and provides beautiful fruity memories in the aftertaste!

The long ageing of Bertha MAX Gran Reserva gives this wine a very special complexity. On the other hand, its creamy structure and fine carbonation make it more like a classic Champagne than a traditional Cava.
