Whole-cluster as always, the 2016 Saint Joseph (tasted from barrel) is strongly reminiscent of crushed stone, but it's also stemmy and floral, with notes of cherry and almond paste. It's medium-bodied, crisp, crunchy and pure, with a long, tart finish.

Description
Alain Graillot Saint-Joseph is a red wine from the Saint-Joseph appellation . An appellation that has undergone a positive transformation with the arrival of exemplary winemakers in recent times. Alain Graillot, renowned for his influence on the new wines of Crozes-Hermitage, is one of these architects. In Saint-Joseph, the Graillot family is passionately devoted to two plots of Syrah: one in the Andance hills and the other in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols. Although these are not old vineyards, the optimal conditions of the soil, composed mainly of granite, together with the reduced yields, result in a high quality grape.
Winemaking
Fermentation takes place in cement vats and foudres, macerating with the skins for approximately three weeks. Subsequently, the wine is aged for a year in barrels, both new and old, in order to give it body and consistency without overloading it with aromas.
Taste
Alain Graillot Saint-Joseph is medium-bodied, with notes of yeast and ripe fruit, which combine harmoniously with herbal hints. On the palate, it surprises with an excellent acidity, perfectly balanced, which promises a long finish. Undoubtedly, it is a wine whose best years are yet to come, inviting lovers of good wine to participate in its evolution and maturity.
