Description
If there is one wine that captures the essence of Ribeiro, it is A Torna Dos Pasás. It is not just any wine. It is a return to authenticity, to the roots of this Galician region, where viticulture is an art inherited from generation to generation.
Behind this project is Luis Anxo Rodríguez, a name that resonates strongly among lovers of terroir wine. Luis not only makes wine; he rescues native varieties, works with minimal plots and lets the vineyard do the talking. And it does.
A Torna Dos Pasás is a blend of Brancellao (40%), accompanied by equal parts of Caiño Longo, Caiño Redondo and Ferrol. Each of these grapes contributes its own: freshness, acidity, structure... the perfect balance. The vineyards, located on the slopes of Arnoia, grow on decomposed granite soils. This, together with the Atlantic climate, brings a vibrant minerality and an unmistakable personality.
Winemaking
Luis and his team work with care. The grapes are harvested by hand, without haste or pressure. Each cluster is destemmed before a 15-day maceration, allowing the skins to provide structure and colour. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, respecting as much as possible the expression of the vineyard.
The wine then rests for 12 months in used French oak barrels, refining and acquiring depth. It is neither filtered nor clarified. No unnecessary make-up. After a year in bottle, it is ready to be shown to the world.
Taste
The first thing that stands out in A Torna Dos Pasás is its freshness. Don't expect a heavy, overwhelming red. Here everything flows elegantly. On the nose, there are notes of fresh red fruits, a balsamic touch reminiscent of the Galician countryside and that subtle minerality that takes us back to the granite of Arnoia.
On the palate, it is a fine-textured wine, with a lively acidity and polished tannins that make it tremendously gastronomic. Imagine an octopus á feira, a mushroom rice dish or a board of Galician cheeses... Pure harmony!
The best thing about this wine is that it leaves you wanting more. Each sip invites the next, revealing new nuances, little glimpses of its Atlantic character. It is a wine that speaks of its land and of who makes it. And that, nowadays, is a luxury.
