Heymann Löwenstein's vineyards are characterised by steep terraces, which represent a challenge in terms of viticulture. These terraces, known as the "Hanging Gardens of the Mosel", are essential for the production of the winery's terroir wines. The soil is distinctive, with large amounts of organic matter in deep layers and more than 50% stone, allowing excellent air circulation. This soil structure, together with strong microbial activity, causes the slate to decompose rapidly, nourishing the vines with precious minerals.
