There is a new red 2022 Listán Negro from grapes purchased from old vines in the village of San Mateo, a higher-altitude zone of the island, more specifically in the place known as Lomo de los Ingleses. It fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts in plastic bins and matured in used 228- and 500-liter oak barrels for 10 months. It has 11.8% alcohol, good freshness and moderate acidity, and it's quite perfumed and aromatic, spicy and herbal, with notes of volcanic ash. It has some slightly dusty tannins and a medium body. 1,560 bottles were filled in September 2023.
