Description
The Nas del Gegant wine is a wine that derives from the processing of 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Garnacha, 20% Carignan and 20% Merlot grapes. All of them are grown in calcareous clay soils, which determines the peculiar taste that distinguishes this wine.
It is a wine that follows the philosophy of the Escoda-Sanahuja winery, which in addition to respecting the spontaneous expression of the fruit, guarantees the minimum human intervention in the fermentation and vinification processes, and the null integration of chemical elements.
This red wine is defined as juicy, aromatic, fresh and enveloping.
Winemaking
The production of Nas del Gegant wine begins with biodynamic cultivation techniques, implemented for the sowing of the fruit. Once the ripeness level is considered optimal, the grapes are harvested using 100% artisanal methods.
The fruit is then subjected to an alcoholic fermentation process, using indigenous yeasts, without the addition of any chemicals. For this phase, stainless steel tanks are used to guarantee the flavour of the fruit.
This wine is then aged for 10 months in the same steel barrels, after which it is bottled unfiltered.
Taste
Escoda Sanahuja's Nas del Gegant is a red wine with aromatic tones of fresh red fruits, combined with floral and herbaceous touches. In the mouth, it is juicy and light, with a pronounced acidity but very fresh. Its texture is velvety due to the absence of filtration.
An enveloping red wine
The Nas del Gegant wine is very defined by its velvety texture in the mouth, which is why it is described as an enveloping wine. It is excellent to combine with appetizers, red meats and soft cheeses.
