Description
Matassa Blanc is a white wine produced and distributed by the Matassa Winery, which is located in the south of France, in the Pyrenees region.
As all the wines produced by Matassa, this white wine is characterised by its quality, taste and aroma, as well as by its low content of sulphur and external additives, as it uses grapes from very old vines between 30 and 115 years old, which denotes its excellent quality.
Winemaking
Matassa Blanc is a natural white wine, a coupage of Garnacha Gris and Macabeo grapes. For the elaboration, the grapes are previously harvested with manual and environmentally friendly methods. The fruit is pressed and fermented with its own yeasts.
The wine is then aged on its lees for 12 to 18 months in 2,000-litre foudres and 500-litre French oak barrels. The wine is bottled unfiltered and with the passage of time its flavours and aromas settle and give it greater value.
Taste
Matassa Blanc is a natural white wine, fresh and fruity with spicy and mineral touches. Its flavour and aroma is fresh, elegant, with a medium-light body and hints of citrus and flint.
Its alcohol percentage varies between 10.5 and 11% and it is perfect to enjoy at a temperature of 10º.
An explosive wine in its natural state
Matassa Blanc is an explosive wine that can be enjoyed as a good aperitif, as a snack to a special meal, but it is also excellent for pairing with white meat, white fish or seafood dishes, either in a romantic, business or family dinner, or simply for the pleasure of drinking a good French wine.
