Description
La Vi y Soñé is an exceptional white wine produced by the Barranco Oscuro winery in the region of La Contraviesa, Granada, Spain. This wine, made exclusively from the Viognier grape variety, comes from vineyards located at an altitude of between 1280 and 1368 metres above sea level, where the soils are lean and stony, composed of schist and clay. The production of this wine follows organic practices, although without official certification.
Winemaking
The grapes for La Vi y Soñé are destemmed and directly pressed, with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks without temperature control. The wine is aged for one year in used oak barrels, and the wine is not clarified, only lightly filtered before bottling. It should be noted that no additives are added at any stage of the process.
Taste
La Vi y Soñé is a unique and complex experience. On the nose, there are unusual aromas of glue, concentrated apple juice, dried hay and a hint of orange. On the palate, notes of lemon zest, green pear, yellow apple, tangerine in syrup, dried grass and currants are discovered, with a lingering and evolving finish. The wine offers a slightly alcoholic mouthfeel and the aftertaste features fresh, acidic flavours of grapefruit and lemon. This blend of flavours and sensations makes La Vi y Soñé a rare but truly delicious wine, which certainly deserves to be tasted.
