The Garnacha red 2019 La Cerqueta was produced with the grapes from the vineyard that gives the wine its name, a 1.18-hectare dry-farmed, head-pruned, 75-year-old plot at 630 meters in altitude on slate-rich soils and facing southeast. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and 100% full clusters that were foot trodden in open-top barrels and then macerated for 70 days. The wine matured in an underground cellar 17 meters deep in an oak foudre for 14 months. This is lighter, very spicy and with rectitude, chalky tannins and very good precision. 2,980 bottles were filled in September 2021.
