Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The delicious and aromatic pale red 2018 Pacio is a blend of local varieties—40% Brancellao, 40% Merenzao, 15% Caíño Longo and 5% Mencía—and it seems to take the best from each, coming through as floral, spicy and subtly elegant, with a bright pale ruby color and a very attractive overall profile. The palate is medium-bodied, with moderate alcohol, freshness and a granite-driven texture with fine-grained tannins, some citrus (blood orange) and even a salty twist in the finish. Truly delicious. There is more complexity and depth here than in any of the separate varietal bottlings. The varieties fermented separately in granite lagar and aged in 500-liter oak barrels and then were blended. 2,000 bottles produced.
