Exedra is a red wine made exclusively from the Grenache grape by the Bodegas Puiggròs winery in the DO. Pla del Bages.
The grapes used to make this wine are grown on calcareous clay soils and are located in the municipality of Ódena at an altitude of 450-650 metres above sea level.
The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure that only the best bunches are selected and that they are not damaged during the harvesting process. After being transported to the winery, the grapes are subjected to alcoholic fermentation, partly in amphorae and partly in tanks.
At the end of fermentation, Puiggròs Exedra undergoes a light maceration and malolactic fermentation in amphorae, where it rests for 6 months before bottling. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
Exedra has a variety of very expressive fruity, floral and herbal aromas and spicy notes. On the palate it is very balanced with good acidity, sandy tannins and a fresh and charming finish that lets you feel the enveloping character of the grape, spongy and very lively. Not to be missed in your cellar!
