Description
Pagès Content Blanc is a white wine made from Macabeo and Xarel-lo grapes by the Celler La Salada winery in the region of Catalonia.
This white wine comes from old vineyards planted in very deep calcareous clay soils, which are cultivated in an environmentally friendly way.
These vineyards have been cultivated with minimal intervention, without chemical fertilizers, following ecological premises, with the addition of organic nutrients.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand. The grapes are harvested in small boxes and transported to the winery. There, 10% remains in contact with the skins for 1 week and pressed for the rest. The alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts is long, it is done for two months in stainless steel tanks in order to protect the varietal purity.
Subsequently, it is aged for 7 months in stainless steel tanks. All the work in the winery, including bottling, is done without fining, without filtering, without adding SO2 or any other product and is done according to the lunar calendar.
Taste
Pagès Content Blanc is an aromatic white wine with delicious fruity aromas, citrus notes and herbal notes. In the mouth it is very young, fresh, discreet and has a moderate acidity.
