Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2010 Brut Grande Sendrée has turned out very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with youthful aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, white peach and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, bright and concentrated, it's youthfully tightly wound, with a racy spine of acidity, an elegant pinpoint mousse and a penetrating, chalky finish. This can't quite match the plenitude of the 2009, but it may outpace it with time, as this is an impressively vibrant, structured young Grande Sendrée.

Description
Drappier Grande Sendrée is a champagne that symbolises the excellence and tradition of the Champagne region in France. This sparkling wine is the result of a meticulous selection of grapes and a detailed winemaking process. The cuvée Grande Sendrée takes its name from a plot of land covered by ashes after a fire in Urville in 1836. This champagne is a rare and beautiful expression of terroir and millésime.
Winemaking
The composition of Drappier Grande Sendrée is a perfect balance between strength and finesse, with 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay. These varieties are selected from the oldest vines and the best plots of the Domaine Drappier. Partial vinification (35%) is carried out in foudres to give body to the wine. Drappier Grande Sendrée matures for at least 5 years in the house' s chalk cellars, at an ideal and stable temperature, which allows its aromas to develop.
Taste
Drappier Grande Sendrée is distinguished by its density, richness and smoothness, combining structure and finesse in a harmonious way. On tasting, notes of hawthorn, honey, acacia, beeswax and almond paste are revealed. The palate is dense and rich, offering a smooth and delicate taste experience. This champagne is exceptionally harmonious and lingers with a beautiful minerality. The finish on the palate is long and resonant, ending with a subtle spicy note.
