Description
Barranco Oscuro Varetúo is a red wine produced by Barranco Oscuro, a winery located in the region of La Contraviesa, Granada, at an altitude of 1280 metres. This wine is produced exclusively from Tempranillo grapes, planted in 1996 in three different plots on the estate. The vineyards are farmed organically, without the use of herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilisers, thus maintaining a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully selecting the bunches. Fermentation is spontaneous, using natural yeasts and without temperature control, taking advantage of the coolness of the autumn nights. Ageing is carried out for 12 months in European oak barrels, without the addition of sulphites or other additives.
Taste
Barranco Oscuro Varetúo stands out for its fresh and powerful flavour, with a mineral profile on the palate. On the nose, there are notes of red fruits, spices and a hint of meatiness. The tannins are firm but soft, offering a balanced and pleasant structure. This wine is open and inviting from the first sip, thanks to the absence of sulphites. The finish is mineral and fruity, reflecting the uniqueness of the Barranco Oscuro terroir.
