Description
Barco del Corneta is an aged white wine made exclusively from Verdejo grapes by the Barco del Corneta winery in La Seca, VT Castilla y León.
The grapes used to make this wine come from centenary vineyards that grow on sandy and silt soils, and are located in the region of Tierra de Pinares in Valladolid at an altitude of 770 metres above sea level.
These vineyards have been cultivated with ecological techniques, respecting the environment and the diversity of the vineyard.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported in 15 kg boxes. At the winery they are fermented in 300 and 500 litre oak barrels with local yeasts and left to mature for 12 months in French oak barrels. After this they are left in stainless steel tanks for 5 months.
Taste
Barco del Corneta is a wine with citrus aromas, accompanied by floral aromas. The palate is unctuous and fresh, with an impressive capacity to evolve and a pleasant bitter finish.
