Description
Astrales Christina is the jewel of Bodegas Los Astrales, a testimony to tradition and meticulous winemaking. This wine is composed of 100% Tinto Fino, a noble variety that captures the essence of the selected vineyards in "Fuentesanta" and other plots of old vines. These vineyards, located in clay-limestone soils dotted with boulders, are nourished by a unique environment that brings depth and minerality to the wine.
Winemaking
The grapes, harvested by hand, are transferred by gravity to 50 hl tanks where fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts for 15 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels, followed by 18 months of ageing in extra-fine grain French oak barrels, which gives the wine a distinguished and structured profile.
Taste
When tasting Astrales Christina, a complex sensory experience unfolds. Its powerful nose exhales notes of black fruits such as blackberry, wrapped in spicy aromas of vanilla and liquorice. Added to this are mineral and subtle toasted touches that recall its meticulous ageing. On the palate, it is rounded, with impeccable balance and a long finish, showing a velvety structure that culminates in intense, polished tannins. This wine exhibits the maximum concentration and power of Tempranillo, but in an elegant and sweet way, ensuring an ageing capacity that promises to delight for years to come.
