Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There was a change in the fermentation of the 2019 Cien Lanzas, when they used a large oak vat that allowed them to do a longer maceration, close to 60 days, when in the past it was around 40. That change seems to have had an effect on the aromatics of the wine, which tends to be more floral and the grainy tannins get more polished. This was a trial that was done again in 2020 in this wine and in the Aguja del Fraile. This is quite surprising for such warm and dry year; it has a fresh profile that makes it look more like a wine from a cooler year. A triumph over the conditions of the vintage. This also aged in the 5,000-liter oak foudre. It's quite drinkable. 4,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2020.
