This is a young white wine aged for 6 months in French oak barrels from vineyards with poor clay-limestone soils and an Atlantic climate with Mediterranean influence. The grapes are harvested by hand at the moment when they reach their optimum ripeness.
Once they are in the winery, they are cold macerated for 6 to 8 hours to achieve a greater aromatic extraction in the final wine. The grapes are de-stemmed and gently pressed in the winery and the must is transferred to new American oak barrels where fermentation takes place for 15 to 20 days at a temperature of 16 to 20 °C. Before bottling, it is filtered and clarified.
Viña Real Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is unctuous and is marked by a pleasant tannin, which ends in an adequate acidity, providing a fresh and structured taste.
A white wine, frank and complex, well structured.
It is a young, fresh and aromatic white wine made from the Viura grape variety of the D.O. Ca. Rioja. Viña Real Blanco Fermentado en Barrica has the distinction of a white wine fermented in barrels.
It is the kind of simple, well-made wine that is enjoyable in its youth as well as in its maturity.
