Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The very young varietal white 2024 The Flower And The Bee Treixadura is faintly reductive but opens up in the glass and shows clean and expressive, with herbal notes and hints of flowers and white fruit. The grapes achieved good ripeness, and the wine has 13% alcohol, with a pH of 3.29 and 5.81 grams of acidity, coming through as balanced. This is the entry-level varietal range produced in white and red. It's tasty and clean with some ripe notes in the finish. 70,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in March 2025.

Description
The Flower and the Bee was born in the heart of the Ribeiro, where the granite hills open up to the Galician sky and the Atlantic breeze blows through centuries-old terraces. It is the vision of the Carreiro family and their Coto de Gomariz project, which for decades has been committed to recovering the splendour of this land through organic and honest viticulture. This Galician white wine is more than just a label: it is a declaration of love for the Treixadura, a native variety that is shown here without artifice, like a flower that needs no adornment to attract the bee.
The estate is farmed organically, on decomposed granite soils with hints of clay and schist. The Atlantic-Mediterranean climate provides that rare duality of freshness and ripeness. In 2010, faced with a pest threatening the crop, the team refused to use systemic treatments, even at the risk of losing production. It was a difficult decision, but it was indicative of their commitment: first the land, then the market.
Winemaking
Harvesting is manual and meticulous. The clusters that will give life to The Flower and the Bee arrive in small boxes, gently destemmed and pressed with precision. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts at a low temperature to preserve the primary aromas of the grapes. There is no oak or malolactic fermentation. After fermentation, The Flower and the Bee rests for several months on fine lees, gaining volume and texture without losing tension. It is bottled with minimal intervention, seeking transparency and authenticity.
Taste
The Flower and the Bee expresses itself with restrained elegance. On the nose, notes of green pear, lime peel, grapefruit and a delicate background of white flower and fennel unfold. Nothing is invasive; everything is precise, balanced, almost ethereal. The palate is vibrant, with structured acidity that shapes without dominating. The minerality -wet granite, subtle salinity -sweeps across the palate with restrained energy. There is a faint hint of ripe stone fruit, but always within a dry, taut profile.
The finish is clean, long, with that elegant bitterness reminiscent of almond skin and white tea. A wine that doesn't need to shout to be noticed. Fine, vertical, honest. Like a flower in the field that only bees -and good tasters- know how to find.
