Description
Hacienda López de Haro Tempranillo is a young red wine made in the prestigious Rioja Alta region, specifically in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes coming from old vines that are between 50 and 70 years old.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand during the second and third week of October, guaranteeing the selection of the best grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery in shallow boxes and small trailers to begin the traditional vinification process. This Tempranillo is aged briefly for 3 to 4 months in new barrels before bottling, giving it a unique and distinctive character.
Taste
Hacienda López de Haro Tempranillo stands out for its elegant aromatic profile and its balance on the palate. To the eye, it has a cherry colour with violet tones on the rim. On the nose, aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and black cherry are perceived, accompanied by notes of liquorice and a spicy touch of pepper. On the palate, there is a sweet entry with a well-marked acidity that makes it very refreshing. The tannins are ripe and provide a solid structure, culminating in a long, pleasant aftertaste. Although more expressive on the nose than on the palate, this wine is known for its high acidity that provokes intense salivation, making its enjoyment a complete sensory experience.
