Description
La Cueva del Contador is an exclusive product of the Benjamín Romeo winery produced in the municipality of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the heart of the Ebro Valley in La Rioja. It is one of the most appreciated varieties for its deep flavour and pleasant aroma, made from a careful selection of the must produced in the vineyard.
The vines are grown on clay soils in a climate that favours water stress, which accentuates the tannin load, ideal for the grapes to be at their peak!
Winemaking
This wine is nothing less than the result of a careful harvesting process from the Tempranillo grape variety. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in French oak barrels for almost two years, resulting in a single varietal wine with lots of tannins and complexity.
Taste
La Cueva del Contador stands out for its complex flavours, with slightly spicy notes and balsamic nuances. It is a balanced wine, with a long finish and earthy notes, perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
