Description
Microscopi is a red wine that not only delights the palate, but also carries with it a story of solidarity and hope. Created by Irene Alemany, winemaker at the Sot Lefriec winery, this wine was born as a gesture of gratitude and support for the fight against breast cancer. After overcoming this disease, Irene decided to make El Microscopi to raise funds for the purchase of a microscope for the Oncology Institute of the Vall d'Hebrón University Hospital in Barcelona.
Elaboration
El Microscopi is made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cariñena grapes. This wine is the result of sustainable viticulture, reflecting honesty, naturalness and transparency in its production. It is not filtered and indigenous yeasts and bacteria from the grapes are used for fermentation. Racking and bottling are carried out according to the lunar cycle, a detail that adds a special touch to its production process.
Taste
Microscopi is a wine that stands out for its fruity and spicy profile. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe black fruit are perceived, complemented by notes of spices and herbs such as cardamom, liquorice and thyme. On the palate, this wine reveals a combination of dark red berry flavours, with a noticeable presence of firm tannins. Although the finish is not very long, it leaves a lingering desire to repeat the experience. This wine is characterised by its agility in the mouth, being direct and frank, and is ideal for pairing with soft cheeses and red meats.
