Description
Condado de Haza Reserva is an oenological jewel that reflects the essence of Ribera del Duero. Produced by the prestigious Fernández Rivera Family, this wine is a 100% Tempranillo single varietal, the region's emblematic grape. The vineyards are located between the towns of La Horra and Roa, in the so-called "golden mile" of the Duero, at an altitude of approximately 800 metres. These plots, with an average age of 30 years, are located on predominantly sandy soils, ideal for growing vines.
Winemaking
The vinification of Condado de Haza Reserva follows traditional methods that respect the purity of the grapes. After a manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks, which allows for a controlled and uniform fermentation. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, providing complexity and structure. Before being marketed, it rests in the bottle to refine its qualities and reach its fullness.
Taste
A glass of Condado de Haza Reserva reveals a clean, bright cherry red colour. On the nose, it displays a high aromatic intensity with hints of ripe black fruit and milky notes. A wide range of spicy, balsamic and roasted aromas appear. On the palate, it offers a powerful entry, with marked notes of fruit and roasted coffee, a creamy passage and well-integrated tannins. The acidity is perfectly balanced, and in the aftertaste there are persistent sweet flavours of blackberries and plums, together with toasted and spicy nuances. It is a powerful and structured wine, at the same time elegant and complex, with a remarkable persistence.
Condado de Haza Reserva is ideal to accompany grilled meats, stews, game stews and chocolate desserts. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 12º-14ºC to fully appreciate its qualities.
