Description
Located in the heart of the Bandol AOC, Château Romassan is more than a winery: it is a history rooted in Provençal winemaking tradition. Domaines Ott has been creating wines that capture the essence of the Mediterranean for over a century, and this rosé is no exception.
The composition of Château Romassan Rosé is a finely tuned orchestra: 50% Mourvèdre, which gives structure and character; 30% Cinsault, providing softness and freshness; and 20% Grenache, which rounds the whole with fruity notes.
The vines grow in marl and limestone soils, which give the grapes a marked identity. Some plots extend into the valleys, where the grapes ripen with vibrant juiciness; others, on the hillside terraces, where the terroir imprints more body and complexity.
Winemaking
Meticulously crafted, Château Romassan Rosé is hand-picked, ensuring that only the best grapes reach the cellar. After a cold maceration, fermentation is carefully controlled to preserve the most delicate aromas. Finally, the wine rests in stainless steel tanks, preserving its natural freshness.
Taste
At first glance, Château Romassan Rosé is already a delight: a pale pink with golden reflections reminiscent of sunsets on the Côte d'Azur. Bringing the glass to the nose is like opening a basket of fresh fruit: crisp red fruits, a hint of peach, and a subtle echo of white flowers.
But it is on the palate that it really comes alive. The entry is smooth, elegant, with a perfect balance between freshness and creaminess. There are notes of apricot, subtle spices and a mineral touch, like a sea breeze on a warm day. The finish is persistent, leaving a refreshing sensation that invites another sip.
Château Romassan Rosé is ideal with seafood, grilled fish or fresh salads, but if you ask me, it is also perfect to enjoy unhurriedly, in good company and with the sun caressing the skin.
